All participants are required to to read and understand the rules and regulations (“Rules & Regulations”) before registering for Bank Jateng Borobudur Marathon 2024.Please note that all participants are those who received the official email confirmation from Borobudur Marathon that identify themselves as participants of Bank Jateng Borobudur Marathon 2024 through one of the following registration programs: Fast Track, Ballot, Saveduit Bank Jateng, Travel Agency Partner Program, or other Borobudur Marathon programs (“Participant”).
General
- By registering for Bank Jateng Borobudur Marathon 2024 (“Race”), participants fully accept and must abide by the rules & regulations of the race.
- Race will be held on December 1st, 2024 (“Race Day”)
- The start and finish line of the race will be located in the Lumbini Park Area, Borobudur Temple, Magelang, Central Java
- Distance categories offered this year are 42,195K (“Marathon”), 21,0975K (“Half Marathon”), and 10K
- Race registration is open to both Indonesian citizens and non-Indonesian with passports
- Both Indonesian and non-Indonesian participants may win the “Overall Podiums” in Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K categories that are divided by genders in men and women categories. “National Podiums” is only for Indonesian citizens who participate in the Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K, which are divided into men’s and women’s categories. Additionally, in the Marathon distance, there is a Marathon Indonesian Master category for Indonesian participants who are 40 years old and above on race day
- On Race Day, Participants are required to meet the minimum age requirements for each distance category, with the following details:
- Marathon : 18 (eighteen) years old
- Half Marathon : 16 (sixteen) years old
- 10K : 14 (fourteen) years old
Indonesian Participants who are 40 (forty) years old or older on race day may compete in the Marathon Indonesian Master Category.
- Participants who are under the age of eighteen (18) on race day are required to submit a parental consent form. A format of the consent letter can be downloaded HERE
- The recommended maximum age to participate is eighty five (85) years old. If you are of the age of eighty five (85) years old or more on the race day and would like to register, you must contact our customer service to receive further information.
- Participants are recommended to seek medical advice from a doctor concerning their health conditions before the race. Participants acknowledge and accept that their participation in the race carry the potential risks and danger, including but not limited to accidents, physical injury, health issues, disability, death, damage to personal property and other losses or risks that are previous unknown and cannot be naturally predicted at present times (“Risks and Dangers”)
- The organizers of the Bank Jateng Borobudur Marathon 2024 (“Race Organizers”) are not responsible for any danger and/or loss caused by the following, including but not limited to:
- The occurrence of risk and danger;
- Late arrival to the race;
- Congenital disease;
- Accident happens during the race
- Loss and/or damage to personal property while participating in the race and/or
- Force Majeure (as defined below)
- Although active lifestyle during pregnancy is encouraged, the race organizers require pregnant women to report their pregnancy condition and submit a doctor’s approval note along with a special waiver form one (1) week before participating in the race at the latest. A sample of the waiver form can be downloaded HERE. The Race Organizers are not responsible for any complication or health problem that occur as a result of participation in the race during pregnancy and can stop participants from the race for health reasons
- Participants expressly and exclusively grant the organizers and assignees irrevocable rights to use names, likenesses, biographies, whether factual or otherwise, in connection with the production, distribution and publication of images, photographs and other intellectual property rights related to Bank Jateng Borobudur Marathon 2024, worldwide, on any and all devices, media or publications
- Copyrights and other intellectual property rights (if any) of images, photos, articles, time notes, and location information covering the Bank Jateng Borobudur Marathon 2024, and their usage rights for TV broadcasts, newspapers, magazines, internet, and other media or publications are owned by the organizers. Such use also includes, but is not limited to, names and other personal information such as age and address (country, province and city) of Participants
- From time to time, the Race Organizer may change the Rules & Regulations according to their sole discretion and without prior notification, so Participants must regularly review the Rules & Regulations every time they access or use the official application & website of Bank Jateng Borobudur Marathon 2024
- Other matters that have not been listed in these Rules & Regulations may be added later by the Race Organizer.
Registration
- Submission of registration through online registration using the official My Borobudur Marathon apps (and a special link from the Race Organizer for the Travel Agent Partner Program and other programs) is considered as acknowledgment and acceptance of the Rules & Regulations
- By registering for the race, Participants acknowledge. accept, and agree to the Rules & Regulations
- Registration fees for each distance category are as follows :
- Marathon : IDR 675.000
- Half Marathon : IDR 575.000
- 10K : IDR 375.000
There will be difference in registration fees for each partner registration programs such as Saveduit Bank Jateng & Travel Agent Partners, which will be provided with further information.
- A payment confirmation email along with a registration identification number will be sent after our system has successfully received and verified the Participant’s payment
- Race Organizer has the right to close registration before the deadline for registration and/or in the event that the Race quota has been fulfilled
- Participants agree to provide true, accurate, current and complete information about Participants in the registration form. Participants are responsible for any information provided. The Race Organizer may contact Participants from time to time via email. Any notification sent by the Race Organizer to the email address registered with the Race Organizer will be deemed received by the Participant
- Registration fee is non-refundable. The Race Organizer has the right to refuse confirmed registration if there is incorrect, false and/or incomplete information in the registration form
- Registration that has been confirmed is final and cannot be transferred and/or sold to other parties. Sales and/or transfer of race entry/bib number is prohibited. Participants, along with related parties, who are found selling and/or transferring their participation will be disqualified from the competition, as well as prohibited from participating in future events.
Race Pack
- Information regarding race pack collection times, including within it the bib number will be informed later through official email notification from the Race Organizers
- Race Pack will contain the bib number with the timing chip attached, as well as other items that will be announced later
- Bib number is a personal identification for participants and may not be swapped and/or transferred
- Bib number will be given after the submission of the race registration confirmation and a form of identification. Bib number must be clearly seen throughout the race. The Race Organizers has the rights to withhold any bib number and race pack in certain conditions such as a violation of the rules & regulations, or indication of fraud and/or other similar conditions
- Race packs cannot be mailed for any reason, and cannot be collected on Race Day
- If a Participant is known to have registered for two (2) different categories under the same name, the Race Organizer has the right to withhold one or all bibs and race packs, as well as to disqualify the Participant from the Race.
- Bib number and race can only be collected by a representative of the participant (“Race Pack Collector”) by submitting a request online through the official My Borobudur Marathon apps. Information on how to do this will be provided soon.
Participation
- Official Race Time will be displayed on the start and finish lines. Please note that calculating the official race time record is entirely the authority of the race organizer
- Participants must be able to complete the entire distance that must be traveled from each category, starting from the official start line to the official finish line, within the time required by the Race Organizer (Cut Off Time and Cut Off Point). Please note that the calculation of official time records is the authority of the Race Organizer
- Timekeeping is prepared for each category. All Participants will be issued a bib number with a time chip to wear during the Race. Check points will be placed at the start/finish line, and at the specified time keeping points to ensure all Participants are following the official race course. Participants who fail to follow the official race course are disqualified from the Race
- There are different time limits (Cut Off Times and Cut Off Points) and minimum age requirements for each race category

Participants must fulfill the Cut Off Times as follow:
- Marathon : 7(seven) hours
- Half Marathon : 3 (three) hours and 45 (forty five) minutes
- 10K : 2 (two) hours
- The Race Organizer is implementing Cut Off Points in the following Race categories:
- Cut Off Points for the Marathon category:
Cut Off Time at KM 10.3 is 1 hour and 40 minutes after the Marathon starts. Marathon participants who arrive at KM 10.3 after 1 hour and 40 minutes will be stopped and escorted by vehicle to the race central.
Cut Off Time at KM 21.1 is 3 hours and 30 minutes after the Marathon starts. Marathon participants who arrive at KM 21.1 after 3 hours and 30 minutes will be stopped and escorted by vehicle to the race central.
Cut Off Time at KM 35 is 5 hours and 50 minutes after the Marathon starts. Marathon participants who arrive at KM 35 after 5 hours and 50 minutes will be stopped and escorted by vehicle to the race central.
- Cut Off Points for the Half Marathon category:
Cut Off Time at KM 12.8 is 2 hours and 12 minutes after the start of the Half Marathon. Half Marathon participants who arrive at KM 12.8 more than 2 hours and 12 minutes after the start of the Half Marathon will be stopped and escorted by vehicle to the Race central.
Cut Off Time at KM 15 is 2 hours and 35 minutes after the start of the Half Marathon. Half Marathon participants who arrive at KM 15 more than 2 hours and 35 minutes after the start of the Half Marathin will be stopped and escorted by vehicle to the race central.
- Cut Off Points for the Marathon category:
- Participants who do not meet the Cut Off Time and Cut Off Points as well as Participants who are disqualified are declared as non-finishers and are not entitled to receive finisher medals and finisher tees (Marathon Finisher)
- Participants must use the correct bib number and the bib must be clearly visible during the competition
- Corral start for each category will be closed at the sound of the gun start or the signal to the start of the category. Participants who are not inside the corral of the mentioned category at the time of the start signal sounded will not be permitted to start and will be give the DNS (Did not Start) status
- Participants who commit unsportsmanlike behavior including but not limited to blocking, and/or obstructing other Participants throughout the run course will be automatically disqualified from the race
- Drinking stations will be available on the run course and at the finish line. Fruit station will be available on the Marathon and Half Marathon run courses. Sponge stations will be available on the Marathon and Half Marathon courses
- No unauthorized vehicles, bicycles, in-line skates, skateboards, baby joggers, wheelchairs, strollers (of any description) are permitted on the run course
- No animals of any kind on or off leash are permitted on the run course
- Participants may not wear clothing or wear equipment that can cause harm, hurt or endanger themselves and/or other Participants. Participants may not run with their faces covered
- Participants may not dress inappropriately for sporting events or dress inappropriately for other Participants or spectators
- Participants may not wear clothing for the purpose of political or religious statements or propaganda, as well as for advertisements
- Participants may not use any attributes that can cause other Participants to misrecognized as a signal and/or confuse other Participants and/or the Race Organizer, and/or use any device with a loud volume that can disturb other Participants
- Participants may not perform actions that cause delays in the Race, such as dancing, performing, playing instruments, standing near the start or finish line, or on the streets along the run course
- The Race Organizer is not responsible for any form of fundraising by Participants at the Bank Jateng Borobudur Marathon 2024. This responsibility belongs to each individual Participant
- Participants may not prevent pedestrians from crossing or block the passage of emergency vehicles at certain points, when and where they are permitted to do so
- Participants may not obstruct/interfere with the running of the race by disobeying instructions from the organizers and/or officers. Violation of this rule can be grounds for disqualification of the participant from the race
- The Race Organizer has the right to stop a Participant from continuing the Race if the Participant behaves inappropriately in the Race and the said Participant will be disqualified from the Race
- Carrying items that have the potential to hinder or threaten the safety of other Participants or can cause danger or risk of harm to themselves or other Participants is prohibited
- Road safety is controlled by the police department and transportation authorities. Medical services are provided by the Race Organizer in collaboration with local hospitals and medical personnel. Medical personnel have the authority to stop Participants who they see are medically unable to continue the Race
- Marshaling will be done throughout the race to ensure the rules and regulations are observed.
Prizes
- The participant who wins the Race (“Winner“) must wear the timing chip and the bib number associated with the timing chip. Winners are determined based on the official race time records
- Winners must provide a proof of personal data identification to claim the prize
- Winners who are unable to provide valid proof of identification may be disqualified and not awarded the prize
- Winners who are Indonesian citizens are entitled to the prize money for Overall Podiums or Indonesian Podiums (whichever amount is higher). The winner can only take one prize from one of the podiums they won (without double dipping)
- Winners who are foreign citizens are only entitled to the prize money for Overall Podiums
- Winners who are Indonesian citizens who are 40 (forty) years old or older on Race Day, have the opportunity to win Overall Podiums, National Podiums or Marathon Indonesian Masters (whichever amount is higher). The winner can only take one prize from one of the podiums they won (without double dipping)
- Prizes for winners on the podium in each race category are money whose nominal value has been determined by the race organizer
- Please note that the winner’s prize money is subject to tax according to applicable government regulations, which is fully borne by the winner. Race organizer is obliged to collect the Winner’s prize tax directly, deposit and report it to the relevant government agency
- The prize disbursement process will be carried out within 25 working days from the Race Day. Winners must ensure the accuracy of the information on bank account numbers, addresses, and swift codes (for foreign winners) required by the Race Organizer. Failure to provide accurate information, which could potentially result in delays in the prize disbursement process, is the responsibility of the Winner.
Others
- The Race Organizer has the right to cancel or reschedule the Race in the event of a Force Majeure
- If the Race is canceled and/or rescheduled due to Force Majeure, the Race Organizer is not obligated to return the registration fee that has been paid by the Participant and the Race Organizer is not responsible for any Risks and Hazards that may occur in connection with the cancellation and/or rescheduling of the Race
- Please note that Force Majeure is a state or condition of war (whether declared or not), violence, social unrest, strikes, epidemics, accidents, fires, floods, natural disasters, embargoes, legal reasons, or actions of the government of the Republic of Indonesia, and conditions/circumstances other similar events that may occur beyond the ability of the Race Organizer to prevent it.
Language
The Rules & Regulations are made both in Indonesian and English languages. In the event of any discrepancies between the Indonesian version and the English version, the Indonesian version shall prevail.
